Getting up and at it early is good for the soul. Something about waking up before the sun and getting your day started while the world sleeps feels like you’ve accomplished something. Even if waking up & getting dressed is the only thing you can handle this early! Small accomplishments lead to big self esteem changes. 😊
  • This week I had the honor of speaking with an amazing group of Jr High students about mental health and suicide awareness. These kids were phenomenal and I couldn’t have done it without my partner @thebrookej 🙌🏼❤️ Thank you to @nami_westside_los_angeles for this opportunity to End The Silence about mental health.
If you would like more info on how to arrange for a presentation like this at your school please comment or send me a message.
  • Today I spent an amazing day with other advocates, service providers, clinicians and consumers working on the outline for the new “YourDMH” model. Saw a lot of familiar faces and met a ton of new people. ❤️ Then came home to find the latest copy of NAMI Advocate featured an article on CBT. We can help others by healing ourselves. .......
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is about looking into our thoughts and behaviors as a way to change the situations in life that cause pain, depression, anxiety and fear. This practice is truly a gift and has only heightened my own understanding of my issues as well as given me a means to help others grow. It is now being recognized to help with symptoms of psychosis.

If you or some one you know is experiencing psychosis or any other mental health issues CBT can help them feel heard, learn their triggers, and help them cope.
I am blessed to be part of a community of helpers and grateful for the opportunity to be a voice for those who suffer in silence. You are not alone.

  • Great reminders!! You are amazing! You can do anything (yes anything!) Choose it and it’s yours. There’s no one else like you on the planet. Preparation is what gets you there when opportunity knocks. .
